HAUSDORFF HYPERSPACES OF R m AND THEIR DENSE SUBSPACES
Let BdH(R ) be the hyperspace of nonempty bounded closed subsets of Euclidean space R endowed with the Hausdorff metric. It is well known that BdH(R ) is homeomorphic to the Hilbert cube minus a point. We prove that natural dense subspaces of BdH(R ) of all nowhere dense closed sets, of all perfect sets, of all Cantor sets and of all Lebesgue measure zero sets are homeomorphic to the Hilbert sp...
متن کامل1 On Dense Subspaces of Generalized Ordered Spaces
In this paper we study four properties related to the existence of a dense metrizable subspace of a generalized ordered (GO) space. Three of the properties are classical, and one is recent. We give new characterizations of GO-spaces that have dense metrizable subspaces, investigate which GO-spaces can embed in GO spaces with one of the four properties, and provide examples showing the relations...
متن کاملDense Analytic Subspaces in Fractal L 2 -spaces
We consider self-similar measures µ with support in the interval 0 ≤ x ≤ 1 which have the analytic functions e i2πnx : n = 0, 1, 2,. .. span a dense subspace in L 2 (µ). Depending on the fractal dimension of µ, we identify subsets P ⊂ N 0 = {0, 1, 2,. .. } such that the functions {en : n ∈ P } form an orthonormal basis for L 2 (µ). We also give a higher-dimensional affine construction leading t...
متن کاملHyperinvariant subspaces and quasinilpotent operators
For a bounded linear operator on Hilbert space we define a sequence of the so-called weakly extremal vectors. We study the properties of weakly extremal vectors and show that the orthogonality equation is valid for weakly extremal vectors. Also we show that any quasinilpotent operator $T$ has an hypernoncyclic vector, and so $T$ has a nontrivial hyperinvariant subspace.
متن کاملNormality, Projective Normality and Egz Theorem
In this note, we prove that the projective normality of (P(V )/G,L), the celebrated theorem of Erdös-Ginzburg-Ziv and normality of an affine semigroup are all equivalent, where V is a finite dimensional representation of a finite cyclic group G over C and L is the descent of the line bundle O(1)⊗|G|.
