Nora's lesion or bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation: a rare and relatively unknown entity.
The case of a 34-year-old man with a fast growing hard lump on the fourth digit of the right hand is presented. Radiography and MRI of the finger showed the radiologic characteristics of a bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation. Pathologic analysis confirmed the radiologic diagnosis.

The purpose of this study was to review the imaging and anatomopathologic findings and to discuss the main differential diagnosis of bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation (BPOP) or Nora's lesion, a rare benign surface lesion of the bone. Histologically confirmed plain radiographs, ultrasound, CT and MRI images of four patients with BPOP were obtained and retrospectively reviewed. T...
متن کاملBizarre Parosteal Osteochondromatous Proliferation: a case report
Bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation (BPOP) is a benign disorder within a spectrum of reactive proliferative processes of tubular bones, particularly the phalanges of the fingers or toes. The cause is unknown, and it is difficult to distinguish BPOP from a bone or soft tissue tumor. The radiographic and magnetic resonance imaging manifestations of reported BPOP cases are mostly no...
متن کاملNora's lesion: bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation of the tibia.
Bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation is a rare benign condition of locally aggressive and often recurrent osteochondromatous exostosis arising from the bony cortex. We present a case of a patient who presented with this lesion in her tibia, focusing on imaging findings. Because of the lack of information on the disease's natural history, etiology, and clinical course, a multidisci...
متن کاملBizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation (Nora's lesion) of the forefoot.
Nora's tumour is an uncommon benign tumour, involving mostly tubular bones of hands and feet, and characterized by a proliferation of chondroid, bony and fibrous tissues. Main differential diagnoses are osteochondroma, chondrosarcoma, and osteosarcoma. The authors report a case involving the left foot. The diagnosis was suspected by imaging characteristic features and was confirmed by histologi...
