Nonreciprocal transparency in asymmetric gyrotropic trimers

نویسندگان

چکیده

We demonstrate theoretically an extreme scattering nonreciprocity, namely nonreciprocal transparency, in asymmetric aggregate of deep-subwavelength gyrotropic trimer rods. By examining the characteristics indicated differential extinction efficiency spectra, we explicitly reveal underlying mechanism such pronounced arising from asymmetrical magnetoelectric cross interactions besides simultaneous excitations rotating magnetic dipole and electric at each rod. Further, both far-field near-field distributions are also investigated to validate our finding through full-wave numerical simulations. It may shed new light on field optics photonics related particle clusters.

Wave Propagation and Dispersion Characteristics for a Nonreciprocal Electrically Gyrotropic Medium

The general dispersion relation for a nonreciprocal electrically gyrotropic or a gyroelectric medium is derived in two distinct forms by using three different methods. One of them is a new method which can be used when the stratification of the layers is in the z-direction. The wave numbers corresponding to each dispersion relation are obtained in closed form. It is shown that there exist two t...

Spectra of Periodic Nonreciprocal Electric Circuits

Spectral properties of periodic nonreciprocal (gyrotropic) electric circuits incorporating gyrators are studied. Based on the Lagrange formalism we analyze the origin of the special features of periodic nonreciprocal media and establish some universal spectral properties common for a variety of gyrotropic periodic systems. We found that the combination of periodicity and nonreciprocity can prod...

Wave dispersion in gyrotropic relativistic pulsar plasmas.

Wave dispersion in a gyrotropic relativistic pulsar plasma is discussed. A pulsar plasma in general contains electrons, positrons, and possibly ions. Although electron-positron pairs are dominant in number density, charge neutrality is generally not satisfied and the gyrotropic terms need to be considered. These gyrotropic terms can lead to elliptical polarization that may be relevant for the o...

DCP1 forms asymmetric trimers to assemble into active mRNA decapping complexes in metazoa.

DCP1 stimulates the decapping enzyme DCP2, which removes the mRNA 5' cap structure committing mRNAs to degradation. In multicellular eukaryotes, DCP1-DCP2 interaction is stabilized by additional proteins, including EDC4. However, most information on DCP2 activation stems from studies in S. cerevisiae, which lacks EDC4. Furthermore, DCP1 orthologs from multicellular eukaryotes have a C-terminal ...

All-passive nonreciprocal metastructure

One-way propagation of light, analogous to the directional flow of electrons in the presence of electric potential difference, has been an important goal in the wave-matter interaction. Breaking time-reversal symmetry in photonic flows is faced with challenges different from those for electron flows. In recent years several approaches and methods have been offered towards achieving this goal. H...
