Nonreciprocal high-order sidebands induced by magnon Kerr nonlinearity

We propose an effective approach for creating robust nonreciprocity of high-order sidebands, including the first-, second- and third-order at microwave frequencies. This relies on magnon Kerr nonlinearity in a cavity magnonics system composed two cavities one yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere. By manipulating driving power applied YIG frequency detuning between mode field, can be strengthened, thereby inducing strong transmission non-reciprocity. More interestingly, we find higher sideband order, stronger marked by isolation ratio optimal regime. Such series equally-spaced sidebands have potential applications comb-like precision measurement, besides structuring high-performance on-chip nonreciprocal devices.

We investigate the impact of cascaded third harmonic generation and the intrinsic n4 material nonlinearity on the propagation of ultrashort pulses in noble-gas filled Kagome fibers. We show that the pressure tunability of the cascade allows for the implementation of temporal switching. We also investigate the relative strengths of both effects and show their ratio to be pressure tunable.
