چکیده

The non-oxidative dehydrogenation of methanol to formaldehyde is considered a dream reaction compared with the classical oxidative route, because valuable coupled product hydrogen formed instead water, and produced anhydrous highly suitable for further synthesis oxygenated synthetic fuels. This study reports on high catalytic performance pure β-Ga2O3 in this at temperatures between 500 °C 650 °C. At 550 GHSV 45500 h−1, an initial selectivity 77 % was obtained conversion 72 %. Performing beyond range lower resulted selectivity. catalyst suffered from deactivation caused by formation carbon deposits, but it possible regenerate its activity completely treatment. Irreversible occurred due partial volatilization Ga2O3.

is not favorable (AH = + 3 1.5 kcal). Our conclusion is that an important catalytic site involves two adjacent surface dioxo units (the dual dioxo site), with each dioxo site extracting one H in a sequence of steps. The required dual dioxo site exists on the (010) surface of MOO, but does not exist on the other low index surfaces. This mechanism is supported by atmospheric pressure experimental...

The Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Methanol to Formaldehyde over Silver Catalysts in Relation to the Oxygen-silver Interaction

The properties of silver in the oxidative dehydrogenation of methanol were studied in a flow reactor under near industrial conditions. The influences of temperature, concentration of both reactants, gas velocity, space velocity, the form of the silver catalyst and surface composition of the catalyst were studied. A model for the reaction is proposed which is based on the experimental observatio...

Atmospheric methanol measurement using selective catalytic methanol to formaldehyde conversion

A novel atmospheric methanol measurement technique, employing selective gas-phase catalytic conversion of methanol to formaldehyde followed by detection of the formaldehyde product, has been developed and tested. The effects of temperature, gas flow rate, gas composition, reactor-bed length, and reactor-bed composition on the methanol conversion efficiency of a molybdenum-rich, ironmolybdate ca...

Dehydrogenation of anhydrous methanol at room temperature by o-aminophenol-based photocatalysts

Dehydrogenation of anhydrous methanol is of great importance, given its ubiquity as an intermediate for the production of a large number of industrial chemicals. Since dehydrogenation of methanol is an endothermic reaction, heterogeneous or homogeneous precious-metal-based catalysts and high temperatures are usually required for this reaction to proceed. Here we report the photochemical dehydro...
