Nonoscillation Criteria for Solutions of Higher-order Functional Difference Equations of Neutral Type

In this paper, we find necessary conditions for every solution of the neutral functional difference equation ∆m−1 ( rn∆(yn − pnyτ(n)) ) + qnG(yσ(n)) = fn to oscillate or to tend to zero as n→∞, where ∆ is the forward difference operator, given by ∆xn = xn+1−xn; and pn, qn, rn are sequences of real numbers with qn ≥ 0, rn > 0. It is supposed that τ(n) and σ(n) are increasing sequences of integer...

Boundary Value Problems for First Order Impulsive Difference Equations ∗

In this paper, first order impulsive difference equations with linear boundary conditions are discussed. By using a new comparison theorem and the method of upper and lower solutions coupled with the monotone iterative technique, criteria on the existence of minimal and maximal solutions are obtained. AMS subject classification: 34D20, 34A37.

Asymptotic Properties, Nonoscillation, and Stability for Scalar First Order Linear Autonomous Neutral Delay Differential Equations

We study scalar first order linear autonomous neutral delay differential equations with distributed type delays. This article presents some new results on the asymptotic behavior, the nonoscillation and the stability. These results are obtained via a real root (with an appropriate property) of the characteristic equation. Applications to the special cases such as (non-neutral) delay differentia...

Nonoscillation and oscillation of second-order impulsive differential equations with periodic coefficients

In this paper we give a nonoscillation criterion for half-linear equations with periodic coefficients under fixed moments of impulse actions. The method is based on existence of positive solutions of the related Riccati equation and a recently obtained comparison principle. In the special case when the equation becomes impulsive Hill equation new oscillation criteria are also obtained.

Existence of solutions for nonlinear impulsive qk-difference equations with first-order qk-derivatives

In this paper, we study the nonlinear second-order impulsive qk-difference equations with Sturm-Liouville type, in which nonlinear team and impulsive teams are dependent on first-order qk-derivatives. We obtain the existence and uniqueness results of solutions for the problem by Banach’s contraction mapping principle and Schaefer’s fixed point theorems. Finally, we give two examples to demonstr...
