Nonmonotonic Energy Dependence of Net-Proton Number Fluctuations

چکیده
Non-monotonic variation with collision energy ($\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$) of the moments net-baryon number distribution in heavy-ion collisions, related to correlation length and susceptibilities system, is suggested as a signature for Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) critical point. We report first evidence non-monotonic kurtosis times variance net-proton (proxy number) function \rootsnn 3.1$\sigma$ significance, head-on (central) gold-on-gold (Au+Au) collisions measured using STAR detector at RHIC. Data non-central Au+Au models without point show monotonic $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$.

Energy dependence of moments of net-proton multiplicity distributions at RHIC.
We report the beam energy (sqrt[sNN]=7.7-200 GeV) and collision centrality dependence of the mean (M), standard deviation (σ), skewness (S), and kurtosis (κ) of the net-proton multiplicity distributions in Au+Au collisions. The measurements are carried out by the STAR experiment at midrapidity (|y|<0.5) and within the transverse momentum range 0.4<pT<0.8 GeV/c in the first phase of the Beam E...
متن کاملBeam-Energy and System-Size Dependence of Dynamical Net Charge Fluctuations
We present measurements of net charge fluctuations in Au + Au collisions at √ sNN = 19.6, 62.4, 130, and 200 GeV, Cu + Cu collisions at √ sNN = 62.4, 200 GeV, and p + p collisions at √ s = 200 GeV using the net charge dynamical fluctuations measure ν+−,dyn. The dynamical fluctuations are non-zero at all energies and exhibit a rather modest dependence on beam energy. We find that at a given ener...

متن کاملEnergy dependence of CNI analyzing power for proton-carbon scattering
We use a simple Regge model to determine the energy dependence of the analyzing power for pC scattering in the CNI region. We take the model of Cudell et al which determines the Regge couplings and intercepts for the I = 0, non-flip Regge exchanges (Pomeron, f1 and ω) and extend it to the spin-flip amplitudes by allowing each of these exchanges to have independent spin-flip factors τP , τf and ...
