Nonlocal damage modelling for finite element simulations of ductile steel sheets under multiaxial loading

The finite element simulation of forming processes or vehicle crash scenarios involves multiaxial loading conditions in general. Thereby, damage and failure ductile steel sheets is triggered by void growth under hydrostatic tensile elongation within a narrow band shear dominated loading. These different mechanisms are considered stress state dependent continuum model. initiation represented critical strain. Both HOSFORD-COULOMB type functions the triaxiality LODE parameter and, thus, incorporate dependence mechanisms. Due to pathological mesh sensitivity for models, an enhancement towards nonlocal evolution carried out. two options investigated compared: integral formulation gradient enhanced approach.
