چکیده
Tapered columns are a type of column that is used for different purposes, including architectural purposes or structural needs to take into account the changes occur moments along with height column. For example, in highway bridges, tapered reduce number transmitted base and from there foundation. This research studied analysis short reinforced concrete variable cross-sections linear manner by using ANSYS V.15 software package. The variables were included section, solid hollow, ratio longitudinal transverse reinforcement, hollowness, comparison numerical results those obtained previous study. The we simulation models showed very good agreement experimental studies them. can also be observed through statistical arithmetic mean standard deviation when compared. Finite Element Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Column Under Lateral Load
To serve its purpose a structure must be safe against collapse and serviceable in use. Serviceability requires that deflections be adequately small to keep the cracks within tolerable limits. Although the widely followed ACI Code suggests a detailed method of deflection calculation, it often cannot exactly perceive the actual behavior of a structure. For this purpose, finite element analysis, u...
متن کاملDynamic and Static Behavior of Hollow-Core FRP-Concrete-Steel and Reinforced Concrete Bridge Columns under Vehicle Collision
This paper presents the difference in behavior between hollow-core fiber reinforced polymer-concrete-steel (HC-FCS) columns and conventional reinforced concrete (RC) columns under vehicle collision in terms of dynamic and static forces. The HC-FCS column consisted of an outer FRP tube, an inner steel tube, and a concrete shell sandwiched between the two tubes. The steel tube was hollow inside a...
متن کاملThe Effect of Axial Force Variations on Nonlinear Modeling and Seismic Response of Reinforced Concrete Structures
In order to increase the accuracy of evaluating seismic response of structures, it is critical to conduct dynamic analyses based upon precise nonlinear models being as consistent as possible with the real conditions of corresponding structures. The concentrated plasticity model including one elastic element and two nonlinear spring elements at both ends has been considered within the research c...
متن کاملPullout Load Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Anchor Shafts
In this paper, results obtained in both conventional and finite element analysis of straight and belled anchor shafts subjected to a pullout force are presented. In numerical analysis, it is assumed that no drainage takes place during the anchor pullout. Comparisons between two conventional methods of analysis for ultimate pullout load and the results obtained by the finite element analysis are...
متن کاملTime-Dependent Behavior of Reinforced Polymer Concrete Columns under Eccentric Axial Loading
Polymer concretes (PCs) represent a promising alternative to traditional cementitious materials in the field of new construction. In fact, PCs exhibit high compressive strength and ultimate compressive strain values, as well as good chemical resistance. Within the context of these benefits, this paper presents a study on the time-dependent behavior of polymer concrete columns reinforced with di...
