چکیده
Abstract In additive manufacturing, also called 3-D printing, one of widely used materials is polylactide thermoplastic polymer (PLA) by means the fused deposition modeling. For weight reduction purposes, infill density an often feature in slicing for printing. We aim at investigating effect on mechanical properties structures. Therefore, we demonstrate how to prepare tensile specimens and test them a universal testing machine. Results are collected so-called digital image correlation method. As increases, from 10% 100%, nominal strain break decreases about 2.1% 1.2%, respectively. other words, material becomes more ductile decreasing PLA material, which possible justify with microstructure created density. Furthermore, discuss model fitting all presented results report that hyperelastic needed PLA. utilize Neo-Hookean, Mooney–Rivlin, Yeoh models, different densities. All three models show fairly good agreement experimental data. Neo-Hookean has advantage only parameter, increases monotonously

متن کاملEffect of annealing on the mechanical properties of PLA/PCL and PLA/PCL/LTI polymer blends.
The effects of annealing on the mechanical properties of polymer blends of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) were investigated. The bending strength and modulus of PLA/PCL tend to increase due to crystallization of the PLA phase by annealing. The mode I fracture energy, J(in), of PLA/PCL decreases dramatically due to the suppression of the ductile deformation of the spheric...

The Objet PolyJet 3D Printing process provides the ability to print graded materials featuring both stiff and elastomeric polymers. This capability allows for a variety of new design possibilities for additive manufacturing such as living hinges, shock absorbing casings, and integrated gaskets. Such design features typically rely upon the ability of traditional elastomers to experience large an...
متن کاملGeometric Modeling of Multi-Material Printed Objects
We introduce a set of tools for interactive modeling of multi-material objects. We use non-manifold surface meshes to define complex objects, which can have multiple connected solid regions of different materials. Our suite of tools can create and edit non-manifold surfaces, while maintaining a consistent labeling of distinct regions. We also introduce a technique for generating approximate mat...
