Nonlinear characteristics of a multi-degree-of-freedom wind turbine’s gear transmission system involving friction

In this study, a 42-degree-of-freedom (42-DOF) translation–torsion coupling dynamic model of the wind turbine’s compound gear transmission system considering time-varying meshing friction, stiffness, damping, error and backlash is proposed. Considering different between internal external teeth planetary gear, stiffness calculated by using cantilever beam theory. An improved friction takes into account mixed elastohydrodynamic lubrication to calculate friction. The bifurcation diagram excitation frequency utilized analyze chaos characteristics system. Meanwhile, nonlinear are identified time domain diagrams, phase Poincare maps amplitude–frequency spectrums results show that has complex chaotic behaviors including periodic, quasi-periodic, motion. become complicated region increases effects in high-frequency region.
