چکیده
Early diagnosis of dental caries is paramount importance. If we are able to intercept lesion at subsurface level with the help remineralizing agents, can actually achieve a free mouth.Remineralization was ruled by fluorides from 1960s. Since then it has been successfully carious lesions & certain disadvantages like dependant on calcium and phosphate saliva accomplish this. Also overuse cause skeletal fluorosis. This made researchers explore nonfluoridated agents.ACP compounds considered prime candidates for remineralization therapy due their high solubility under oral conditions ability rapidly hydrolyze form apatite. Casein phospho-peptides responsible bioavailability milk other dairy products. CPP have bind stabilize in solution, as well plaque tooth enamel. ACP, localize ACP plaque, thereby maintaining state supersaturation respect enamel, reducing demineralization. TCP new hybrid material when comes into contact surface moistened saliva, protective barrier breaks down making calcium, fluoride ions available tooth. Xylitol, sugar substitute especially chewing gums which increases salivary flow rate enhances properties saliva. Bioactive glass synthetic mineral containing sodium, phosphorous silica all elements naturally found body. Ozone shift microbial flora acidogenic bacteria normal commensals allowing occur. Nanohydroxyapatite, bioactive biocompatible material, functions directly filling up micropores early lesions. On basis data authors given an insight different agents this article.

The role of remineralizing agents in dentistry: a review.
Minimal intervention is a key phrase in today's dental practice. Minimal intervention dentistry (MID) focuses on the least invasive treatment options possible in order to minimize tissue loss and patient discomfort. Concentrating mainly on prevention and early intervention of caries, MID's first basic principle is the remineralization of early carious lesions, advocating a biological or therape...
متن کاملNovel anticaries and remineralizing agents: prospects for the future.
Although the use of fluorides has been successful in reducing dental caries, the need remains to develop and evaluate new approaches and promising products for caries prevention. Comprehensive caries-prevention protocols should encompass fluoride and other agents affecting the de-/remineralization balance but also antimicrobial strategies. Different from the traditional restorative approach, th...
متن کاملEffects of three remineralizing agents on regression of WSLs
Background: This study investigated the effect of three remineralizing agents on improving white spot lesions (WSLs). Material and Methods: This clinical trial included children who had at least one WSL on anterior teeth of upper or lower jaws. The participants were randomly assigned to 4 groups by treatment: 1) a cream containing casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate and fluoride (...

Background and Aim: White spot lesions (WSLs) are common occurrence following orthodontic treatment, this study sought to compare the remineralizing potential of fluoride, MI Paste Plus (CPP-ACP-F) and Remin Pro for treatment of WSLs. Materials and Methods: This in vitro study was conducted on 56 sound human premolars that extracted for orthodontic purposes. Teeth were cleaned and their root...
متن کاملEfficacy of Enamel Remineralizing Agents in Prevention of Dental Caries Around and Beneath Orthodontic Brackets
Background and purpose: Enamel demineralization around orthodontic brackets is a significant problem. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of Casein phosphopeptide amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) varnish and fluoride varnish in preventing enamel demineralization around and beneath orthodontic brackets. Materials and methods: Twenty extracted premolars were randomly divided into two g...
