Non-Sinus Type Dural Arteriovenous Fistula: Others

چکیده

The clinical manifestations of dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs) are highly variable and dependent on the hemodynamic properties location fistula. locations fistula numerous include cavernous sinus, transverse–sigmoid superior sagittal inferior petrosal sinuses, anterior condylar confluence, tentorium, cranial fossa, middle foramen magnum, cranio-cervical junction, convexity, spinal cord. These dAVFs can be divided into two types, “sinus type” “non-sinus type,” based their communication with shunts cerebral veins. sinus type involves direct between arterial branch one sometimes leading to recruitment cortical On other hand, non-sinus is embedded dura, drainage always involving a vein no any sinus. Treatment options for these types differ; sinus-type require normally obliteration occlusion recruited veins, while non-sinus-type embolization vein. Accurately classifying fistula, or type, critical developing proper treatment plan. This review describes characteristics those unusual illustrative cases.

Spinal dural arteriovenous fistula : a case report

Background: Spinal dural AVF is the most common type of spinal vascular malformation. However, presenting symptoms differ according to site of spinal involvement. This study described a case of arteriovenous malformation with paraparesis and incontinence. Case Presentation: Diagnosis of patient was confirmed by clinical and imaging examination using magnetic resonance image and ruling out ot...

Dural arteriovenous fistula post sinus thrombosis in puerperium

A 28-year-old woman had a normal delivery (primipara) on January 15, 2009. On March 20, 2009, she suffered sudden onset of severe headache. Protein-S and protein-C levels were within the normal ranges. Computed tomography on admission showed no subarachnoid hemorrhage, and the patient was discharge with analgesic treatment. Four days later the patient presented again to our emergency department...

Straight sinus dural arteriovenous fistula presenting with reversible parkinsonism

RATIONALE A dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) refers to an abnormal direct connection between an intracranial artery and a dural venous sinus. A DAVF presenting with parkinsonism is rare, and is therefore easily misdiagnosed. Therefore, early consideration of DAVF in the differential diagnosis of reversible parkinsonism is necessary. PATIENT CONCERNS We present the case of a 51-year-old male...

Dural Arteriovenous Fistula of the Cavernous Sinus with Brainstem Edema

Dural arteriovenous fistula of the cavernous sinus is usually a benign disease and rarely has brainstem edema as its complication. We present a patient with dural arteriovenous fistula of the cavernous sinus and brainstem edema. The brainstem edema resolved after embolization. Embolization should be considered first whenever brainstem edema occurs, progressive visual deterioration or increased ...

Transverse-sigmoid sinus dural arteriovenous fistula presenting with parkinsonism.

Dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) is rarely associated with parkinsonism. A 52-year-old woman presented with a rare case of DAVF manifesting as parkinsonism and subsequently akinetic mutism. She showed dramatic recovery after endovascular treatment. We also review 10 published reports of DAVF presenting with parkinsonism. The clinical features of these cases at presentation was more closely co...
