Non-reciprocity of vortex-limited critical current in conventional superconducting micro-bridges

Non-reciprocity in the critical current has been observed a variety of superconducting systems and called diode effect. The origin underlying effect depends on symmetry breaking mechanisms at play. We investigate micro bridges NbN also NbN/magnetic insulator (MI) hybrids. observe large efficiency $\approx$~30\% when an out-of-plane magnetic field as small 25~mT is applied. In both NbN/MI hybrid, we find that vanishes parallel to sample plane. Our observations are consistent with being determined by vortex surface barrier. Unequal barriers two edges superconductor strip result Furthermore, rectification up temperature $\sim$10~K, which makes device potential for based applications over larger range than before.
