چکیده

Background: Multi environmental trials (MET) is central activity in crop improvement programs for identification of superior genotype across environment before release as a variety. The aim the present study was to select faba bean genotypes having high seed yield and most stable performance different environments gangetic plains India. Methods: material consisted set 11 subjected multi-locational three years (2015-2018) at four locations. test significance x (GE) interaction eight non-parametric measures stability analysis were used identify five environments. A new approach Combined Stability Index based on calculated ranking all genotypes. Result: Based low value Index, HB-12-37, (CSI(i) = 10) HB-11-15, 11), HB-11-32 14) identified with potential. These observed be associated mean yield. simple rank correlation coefficient, using ranks measure association among statistics nature relationships assessed these are categorized groups. HB-12-37 (G3) fall section 1 favourable due well according plot which had higher (25.19 q / ha) protein content (24.85%) better could further breeding programmes recommended variety

Enhancing faba bean (Vicia faba L.) genome resources

Grain legume improvement is currently impeded by a lack of genomic resources. The paucity of genome information for faba bean can be attributed to the intrinsic difficulties of assembling/annotating its giant (~13 Gb) genome. In order to address this challenge, RNA-sequencing analysis was performed on faba bean (cv. Wizard) leaves. Read alignment to the faba bean reference transcriptome identif...

Growth and yield parameters variability among faba bean (Vicia faba L.) Genotypes

The present investigation aims to study the intraspecific diversity of thirteen faba bean genotypes (Vicia faba L. 2n=12) and to determine some selection criteria for plant breeding. Five yield parameters were studied: plant height (H), branch number per plant (BN/Pl), pod number per plant (PN/Pl), seed number per pod (SN/P) and yield per plant (Y/Pl). With a few exceptions, significant variabi...

Estimates of broad-sense heritability for seed yield and yield criteria in faba bean (Vicia faba L.).

Eight faba bean (Vicia faba L.) genotypes were grown at lowlands of the west-Mediterranean region of Turkey in order to estimate the broad-sense heritability for plant height, number of stems and pods per plant, seed yield, biological yield, 100-seed weight, days to flowering and maturity. The heritability for plant height, number of stems and pods per plant, seed yield, biological yield, 100-s...

Trypsin inhibitor activity in the field bean (Vicia faba L.).

Wilson and McNab' reported an increase in live-weight and a reduction in pancreas size of chicks when field beans (Viciu fabu L.) were autoclaved at 120 "C for 30 min. Such effects may be due to the presence in the raw field bean of a trypsin inhibitor analogous to those found in the soyabean and other legumes. Information on the presence of trypsin inhibitors in the field bean and on growth of...
