چکیده

Smart and flexible operation of components in district heating systems can play a crucial role integrating larger shares renewable energy sources systems. Buildings are one the that will enable flexibility by using intelligent operation. Recent work suggests such improved at same time increase thermal comfort lower economic costs. We have digitalised system Danish school adding IoT devices, as smart thermostats temperature sensors to demonstrate possibilities making buildings smart. Based on experimental data, this paper introduces non-linear grey-box model dynamics building. A predictive control method is presented for thermostatic set-point building's radiators. building algorithm, simulation studies carried out show potential When used lowering return results suggest operational costs be lowered around 10% control.

Model Predictive Control for Buildings

Energy savings in buildings have gained a lot of attention in recent years. Most of the research is focused on the building construction or alternative energy sources in order to minimize primary energy consumption of buildings. By contrast, this thesis deals with an advanced process control technique called model predictive control (MPC) that can take advantage of the knowledge of a building m...

Tractable Predictive Control Strategies for Heating Systems in Buildings

Model Predictive control is an advanced control technique that has been used to optimize thermal comfort in buildings. Nowadays, the new buildings are characterized by an important inertia as well as low power heating systems. Since the thermal losses are very low, taking into account the intermittent occupancies in the control strategy is questionable. More precisely, in this paper, two model ...

Predictive control of multizone heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems in non-residential buildings

In France, buildings account for a large part of the energy consumption and carbon emissions. Both are mainly due to Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems. Because older, oversized or poorly maintained systems may be using more energy and costing more to operate than necessary, new management approaches are needed. In addition, energy efficiency can be improved in central hea...

Bayesian Networks for Supporting Model Based Predictive Control of Smart Buildings

Optimal behaviour is one the most desired features of contemporary technological systems. Challenges like secure operation, energy efficiency, and reliable performance call for the optimised behaviour of any systems that operate and interact in our living environment. The challenge in achieving optimised performances resides in the uncertainty that qualifies the environment surrounding technica...

Optimization of the Heating System Use in Aged Public Buildings via Model Predictive Control

This work presents the implementation of a Model Predictive Control (MPC) scheme used to study the improvement of the thermal quality in aged residential buildings without any rehabilitation. The controller manages the heating system of an experimentally characterized model of a residential dwelling in a social block built during the decade of the 1960s located in the neighborhood of Otxarkoaga...
