چکیده
• A method of measurement flow velocity in oil–water two-phase vertical using a non-invasive ultrasound Doppler sensor is developed. We present correlations for both oil-continuous and water-continuous flow. formulated the drift-flux model estimation superficial oil water from measured velocity. The estimated results this proposed are good agreement with reference flowmeters. Oil–water experiments were conducted pipe to study liquid–liquid gamma-ray densitometer. These demonstrate potential ultrasonic combined gamma densitometer measurement.

Flow Pattern and Oil Holdup Prediction in Vertical Oil–Water Two–Phase Flow Using Pressure Fluctuation Signal
In this work, the feasibility of flow pattern and oil hold up the prediction for vertical upward oil–water two–phase flow using pressure fluctuation signals was experimentally investigated. Water and diesel fuel were selected as immiscible liquids. Oil hold up was measured by Quick Closing Valve (QCV) technique, and five flow patterns were identified using high-speed photo...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation of Phase Distributions of Two-phase Air-silicone Oil Flow in a Vertical Pipe
This paper reports the results of an experimental study conducted to characterise the gas-liquid multiphase flows experienced within a vertical riser transporting a range of gas-liquid flow rates. The scale experiments were performed using an air/silicone oil mixture within a 6 m long riser. The superficial air velocities studied ranged from 0.047 to 2.836 m/ s, whilst maintaining a liquid supe...
متن کاملVolume Flow Rate Measurement in Vertical Oil-in-water Pipe Flow Using Electrical Impedance Tomography and a Local Probe
This paper presents the use of a high performance dual-plane electrical impedance tomography (EIT) system and a local dual-sensor conductance probe to measure the vertical upward co-current oil-in-water pipe flows. Experiments were carried on a flow loop with a transparent 2.5 m long, 80 mm inner diameter test section using kerosene and tap water. The flow conditions were predominantly of the d...

متن کاملMultivariate multiscale complex network analysis of vertical upward oil-water two-phase flow in a small diameter pipe
High water cut and low velocity vertical upward oil-water two-phase flow is a typical complex system with the features of multiscale, unstable and non-homogenous. We first measure local flow information by using distributed conductance sensor and then develop a multivariate multiscale complex network (MMCN) to reveal the dispersed oil-in-water local flow behavior. Specifically, we infer complex...
