چکیده

Abstract This paper introduces a model for the mechanical response of anisotropic soft materials undergoing large inelastic deformations. The material is considered made by isotropic matrix with embedded fibers, each component having its own relaxation dynamics. constitutive equations are provided in terms free energy density and dissipation density, which both required to be thermodynamically consistent structural frame-indifferent, i.e., independent rotation overimposed on intermediate natural state fibers. contrast many currently used models, do not deal lack uniqueness state. issue thoroughly discussed two possible choices satisfying structural-frame indifference leading different flow rules processes. It shown that models from literature can incorporated proposed formulation including viscoelasticity growth.

Chapter 7 . Motors Stiffen Non - Affine Fiber Networks

Reconstituted filamentous actin networks with myosin motor proteins form active gels, in which motor proteins generate forces that drive the network far from equilibrium. This motor activity can also strongly affect the network elasticity; experiments have shown a dramatic stiffening in in vitro networks with molecular motors. Here we study the effects of motor generated forces on the mechanics...

Finite AFfine Groups: Cycle . . .

The study of asymptotic properties of the conjugacy class of a random element of the finite affine group leads one to define a probability measure on the set of all partitions of all positive integers. Four different probabilistic understandings of this measure are given–three using symmetric function theory and one using Markov chains. This leads to non-trivial enumerative results. Cycle index...

Finite cubes and finite affine spaces

We begin by considering certain analogues, in finite 3-dimensional affine spaces, of the ordinary cube. From the properties of these structures (as geometric lattices having point sets which are threefold Cartesian products) we derive the notion of an (abstract) finite cube. By studying the additional properties (including the properties of certain groups associated with the cube) of members of...

Monochromatic Affine Lines in Finite Vector Spaces

Let d(k;q) be the smallest positive integer d such that if the d-dimensional vector space over the q-element field is k-colored, there exists a monochromatic affine line. It is shown that d(2;4) = 3 and d(3;3) = 4.
