NMR spectroscopy based configurational and compositional analysis of isobornyl methacrylate—Acrylonitrile copolymers

The authors conducted free radical polymerization using an initiator to synthesize a copolymer of isobornyl methacrylate—Acrylonitrile (I/A). reactivity ratios I (r1) and A (r2) monomers were determined as r1 = 1.63 ± 0.14, r2 0.61 0.06 for linear KT (Kelen–Tudos) method 1.58, 0.60 the EVM (Error-in-Variable Method). We interpreted 1H 13C{1H} NMR spectra I/A copolymers DEPT-135 2D HSQC spectra. α-CH3 carbon in I-unit was identified confirmed spectrum, up level triad compositional configurational sequences. CH (C14) β-CH2 peaks also higher, respectively. TOCSY spectrum revealed geminal vicinal interactions within various protons. HMBC provided complete assignment coupling between nitrile, carbonyl, quaternary carbons with CH3 CH2
