NMMGenerator: an automatic neural mass model generator from population graphs

Abstract Neural mass models are among the most popular mathematical of brain activity, since they enable rapid simulation large-scale networks involving different neural types at a spatial scale compatible with electrophysiological experiments (e.g. local field potentials). However, establishing model (NMM) equations associated specific neuronal network architectures can be tedious and is an error-prone process, restricting their use to scientists who familiar mathematics. In order overcome this challenge, we have developed user-friendly software that enables user construct rapidly, under form graph, its populations connectivity patterns. The resulting graph then automatically translated into corresponding set differential equations, which solved displayed within same environment. proposed as open access, should assist in offering possibility for wider audience develop NMM neuroscience research questions.
