چکیده

Abstract PURPOSE Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is a quantitative technique based on the chemical shift of protons that allows metabolic profile tissues to be analyzed and characterized. Standard glial tumor analysis comprises Creatine (Cr), N-acetil aspartato (NAA) Choline (Cho) metabolites, usually altered in brain pathologies (low grade -LGT-, high-grade cancer -HGT-, metastasis -MTT-, gliosis -GLS-). The aim this study analyze feasibility MRS diagnosis. METHODS prospective study, approved by Institutional Review Board, included 68 randomized patients (39 female 29 male, mean age 47 y, with confirmed histopathology). Data was acquired at Essenza Siemens 1.5T scanner, single voxel (SV) lesion (IT) healthy tissue (HT) contralateral hemisphere. A multivoxel (CS) sample obtained from ROI containing HT IT. Postprocessing done Syngo workstation, statistical analyses were performed using SPSS v25.0 p-values < 0.05 considered statistically significant. RESULTS group (by pathology) for demonstrates homogeneity. For pathological ROIs (SV, long_TE), rNAA rCho indexes (r stands Cr ratio) had p=0.003 p=0.048 respectively; however, aCho (NAA p=0.11. regions, coefficient LGT GLS: p=0.008, MTT: p=0.02, HGT p=0.008 GLS p=0.019. Meanwhile, index, HGT: p=0.005, p=0.002. Short-TE SV inhomogeneity between only ratio distinguish MTT (p=0.01) (p=0.008). Parametric map (from CS) both visually describes regions (83% 72%). CONCLUSIONS Long_TE-SV characterize lesions CS provides spatial description IT localization.

The Utility of Diffusion Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Detection of the Origin of the Brain Solid Metastatic Tumors

Background: Early diagnosis of brain tumors has significant effect on the treatment process. Brain metastatic tumors are usually diagnosed following the neurological symptoms in patients or incidentally after Computerized Tomography (CT) scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) requests of the brain. Objectives: Implementation of a new method for being informed about the origin of brain tumors...

accuracy of magnetic resonance spectroscopy in distinction between radiation necrosis and recurrence of brain tumors.

background: distinction between radiation necrosis and recurrence of intraparenchymal tumors is necessary to select the appropriate treatment, but it is often difficult based on imaging features alone. we developed an algorithm for analyzing magnetic resonance spectroscopy (mrs) findings and studied its accuracy in differentiation between radiation necrosis and tumor recurrence. m e t hod s :  ...

Multivoxel magnetic resonance spectroscopy of brain tumors.

Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is becoming more widely available for clinical applications and is able to provide information about the metabolic properties of regions of normal and abnormal tissue morphology. A critical question for the clinical management of patients with brain tumors is whether multivoxel MRS is able to add new information to the high-quality anatomical data provided ...
