Nickel ferrite ceramics: combustion synthesis, sintering, characterization, and magnetic and electrical properties

Nickel ferrite powders were prepared by combustion synthesis of Fe, Fe2O3 and NiO using NaClO4 as fuel. ceramics fabricated single-step two-step sintering under various conditions. The effects each process on the densification, microstructure properties investigated. X-ray diffraction analysis as-prepared as-fabricated confirmed a single-phase NiFe2O4 with cubic spinel crystal structure. Single-step produced wider density range (3.63–3.97 g/cm3) than (3.74–3.84 grain size (1.10–2.31 µm compared to 1.30–1.37 µm). Two-step greater microhardness (135.00-172.60 HV) (65.33-153.00 HV). In both methods, higher temperatures saturation magnetization (Ms). highest Ms values 62.84 emu/g from at 1200°C 70.00 T2 = 1150°C: Hc was, respectively, 31.18 22.00 Oe. ceramic sintered method 1150°C presented superparamagnetic-like behavior multi-domain magnetic materials, high µi very low Hc. electrical resistivity (R), dielectric constant (?r) quality factor this support high-frequency data storage applications.

Electromagnetic and microwave-absorbing properties of magnetic nickel ferrite nanocrystals.

The electromagnetic and microwave absorbing properties of nickel ferrite nanocrystals were investigated for the first time. There were two frequencies corresponding to the maximum reflection loss in a wide thickness range from 3.0 to 5.0 mm, which may be bought by the nanosize effect and the good crystallization of the nanocrystals.
