چکیده
Bioactive glasses are very attractive materials, used for tissue engineering usually to fill and restore bone defects. This category of biomaterials, show considerable potential orthopaedic surgery because they can promote regeneration. Many trace elements have been incorporated in the glass network, an example is metallic obtain desired properties. Because tolerable mechanical properties, able bond living stimulate its regeneration, this bioactive a particular interest continuous research improvement. The chapter presents history glasses, classification, include summary common fabrication methods, applications, surface coatings, applications future trends relation human bone. review highlight new areas glasses.

Bioactive glasses for bone tissue engineering application
Bioactive glasses are useful materials as synthetic bone graft substitutes due to their potential for osseoinduction and osseoconduction. The ability of these materials to chemically bond to bone is characterized by surface apatite formation. In this paper, the bioactivity of two bioactive glasses has been evaluated in serum supplemented cell culture medium simulating near-physiological conditi...

متن کاملA Review on Commonly Used Scaffolds in Tissue Engineering for Bone Tissue Regeneration
Introduction: Bone is one of the tissues that have a true potential for regeneration. However, sometimes the bone defects are so outsized that there is no chance of bone self-repair and restoration or the damage is such that it is not possible to repair with medical or surgical interventions. In these situations, bone grafts are the treatment of choice, but due to several obstacles, including l...
