New Theoretical Model for Mass Sensitivity of Love Wave Sensors

In this work we analyse basic characteristics of Love wave sensors implemented in waveguide structures composed a lossy viscoelastic surface layer deposited on lossless elastic substrate. It has to be noted that working at ultrasonic frequencies have the highest mass density sensitivity $S_σ^(v_p )$ among all known sensors, such as QCM, Lamb or Rayleigh sensors. paper established an exact analytical formula for form explicit algebraic expression. Subsequently, using developed formula, compared theoretically various structures, as: (1) PMMA Quartz substrate and (2) Diamond The performed analysis shows (real imaginary part) sensor with structure is five times higher than structure. was found increases increase ratio: bulk shear velocity layer.
