چکیده
The study proposes a new mathematical method, referred to as spectral combination, downscale Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) observations. goal is improve the spatial resolution of GRACE from 1? 0.25?, based upon available hydrological variables. First, approach condition adjustment proposed estimate uncertainties related Second, spectral-spatial estimator developed derive downscaled Total Water Storage Anomalies (TWSA) by optimally combining models and Last, groundwater storage anomalies (GWSA) are derived TWSA. combination was tested over Canadian Prairies considering data required Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) variables for February 2003 December 2016. results reveal greater details in TWSA after downscaling. Quantitatively, retrieved GWSA were validated using 75 unconfined situ piezometric wells that distributed across Province Alberta. A correlation 0.80, with an RMSE 11 mm, obtained downscaling all validation area. These better than those before (correlation 0.42, 21.4 mm), demonstrating successful.

15 صفحه اولStatistical downscaling of GRACE gravity satellite-derived groundwater level data
With the continued threat from climate change, population growth and followed by increasing water demand, the need for hydrological data with high spatial resolution and proper time coverage to be felt more than ago. Therefore, having data such as terrestrial water storage changes and groundwater level changes with high resolution spatial helps to plan and make decisions for water resource mana...

NASA’s Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) has already proven to be a powerful data source for regional groundwater assessments in many areas around the world. However, the applicability of GRACE data products to more localized studies and their utility to water management authorities have been constrained by their limited spatial resolution (~200,000 km2). Researchers have begun to...
متن کاملComparison of seasonal terrestrial water storage variations from GRACE with groundwater-level measurements from the High Plains Aquifer (USA)
[1] This study presents the first comparison of seasonal groundwater storage (GWS) variations derived fromGRACE satellite data with groundwater-level measurements in the High Plains Aquifer, USA (450,000 km). Correlation between seasonal GRACE terrestrial water storage (TWS) and the sum of GWS estimated from field measurements (2,700 wells) and soil moisture (SM) simulated by a land surface mod...

[1] The satellite Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) provides data describing monthly changes in the geoid, which are closely related to changes in vertically integrated terrestrial water storage. Unlike conventional point or gridded hydrologic measurements, such as those from rain gauges, stream gauges, rain radars, and radiometric satellite images, GRACE data are sets of Stokes c...
