New Occurrence of Seifertite and Stishovite in Chang’E‐5 Regolith

Abstract High‐pressure minerals in impact ejecta quantify shock conditions and provide clues for provenance analysis. The sampling site of Chang’E‐5 may contain distal ejecta, which is critical constraining the events interpreting constitution target geological units. Here, we report a silica fragment consisting seifertite, stishovite, α‐cristobalite‐like phase, glass regolith. Both seifertite stishovite formed via solid‐state transformation mechanism, by transition from α‐cristobalite upon pressure loading whereas form when postshock temperature was significant during release. coexistence suggests that their host rock has experienced peak 11–40 GPa records different stages process. Crater size calculation revealed could have been transported distant craters, confirming retention landing site.
