چکیده
Abstract Recent studies showed that the transverse feedback system noise floor in Large Hadron Collider (LHC) must be reduced by at least factor of two order to operate machine with large beam-beam tune shift as foreseen High Luminosity (HL) LHC. Also, future suppress LHC Crab Cavity relies on improved performance beam position measurement system. An upgrade program was launched lower during Long Shutdown II. A new generation, very low module developed and tested beam. Innovative methods RF receiver, digital signal processing, thorough optimization every element chain from pickup kickers allowed achieve a significant reduction floor. This unprecedented opens also possibilities for auxiliary instruments, using data feedback. The paper presents system, notable implementation details measured performance.

Fast Digital Feedback System for Energy and Beam Position Stabilization
A digital fast feedback system for beam energy and position stabilization at the target of the CEBAF accelerator is capable of suppressing beam motion in the frequency band from 0 to 80 Hz and also performs narrow band suppression at the first twelve power line harmonics. The system utilizes two VME computers and runs at a 2.4 kHz sampling rate. The numerical algorithm is based on a recursive d...
متن کاملFeedback Configuration Tools for Lhc Low Level Rf System *
The LHC Low Level RF System (LLRF) is a complex multi-VME crate system which is used to regulate the superconductive cavity gap voltage as well as to lower the impedance as seen by the beam through low latency feedback. This system contains multiple loops with several parameters to be set before the loops can be closed. In this paper, we present a suite of MATLAB based tools developed to perfor...
متن کاملEffects of Transverse Beam Size in Beam Position Monitors∗
The fields produced by a long beam with a given transverse charge distribution in a homogeneous vacuum chamber are studied. Signals induced by the displaced finitesize beam on electrodes of a beam position monitor (BPM) are calculated and compared to those from a pencil beam. The non-linearities and corrections to BPM signals due to a finite transverse beam size are calculated for an arbitrary ...
متن کاملNew Beam Position Monitor System Design for the APS Injector*
Demands on the APS injector have evolved over the last few years to the point that an upgrade to the existing beam position monitor (BPM) electronics is required. The injector is presently being used as a source for both the low-energy undulator test line (LEUTL) project and the top-up mode of operation. These new requirements and the fact that many new rf receiver components are available at r...
متن کاملDevelopment of Beam Position Feedback Control System in Ku-fel
The feedback system has been developed in KU-FEL linac to stabilize the FEL power fluctuation. The system consists of six 4-button type BPMs and the signal processing system. As the first step, the beam displacement information at the RF-gun section was used for the feedback control to stabilize the electron energy and the vertical beam position at the RF-gun section. As the result the FEL powe...
