New dimeric complexes with semicarbazone mannich-based ligand; formation, structural investigation and biological activity

The formation of a new semicarbazone Schiff-base ligand (E)-2-(2-(phenyl(2-phenylhydrazinyl)- methyl)cyclohexylidene)hydrazine-1-carboxamide (HL) and its complexes are reported. was prepared from the condensation Mannich-base 2-(phenyl(2-phenylhydrazinyl)methyl)cyclohexan-1-one (M) with semicarbazide. A series metal were by reaction chlorides Cr(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II)), Zn(II) Cd(II). structure elucidated through analytical spectroscopic techniques. analyses indicated behaves as monobasic tridentate species isolation dimeric general formula; [Cr(L)(Cl)2(H2O)]2, [M(L)Cl]2 (where M= Cd(II)). These studies revealed distorted octahedral geometry for square planar Cu(II) tetrahedral arrangement biological activity compounds against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas auroginosa, Staphylococcus aureus Bacillus subtilis compared Cefotaxime (as standard antibiotic) also explored. Some examined similar antibacterial to Cefotaxime. Furthermore, antifungal Candida albicans Rhizopus sporium investigated, which showed that exhibited good activity. Anticancer Activity of New Copper(ii) Complexes Incorporating a Pyridoxal-semicarbazone Ligand

Three newly synthesized copper complexes with pyridoxal semicarbazone (PLSC), as ligand, after being subjected to biological tests, showed anticancer activity. As ligand PLSC is biologically active, the results of biological activity are as expected. Specifically, an activity was demonstrated in breast cancer cells (MCF7 and MDA MB 231) and proliferative cells (MCF7).
