چکیده
BackgroundThere are several clinical diagnostic criteria for allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA). However, these have not been validated in detail, and no mycosis (ABPM) currently available.ObjectiveThis study proposes new ABPA/ABPM, consisting of 10 components, compares its sensitivity specificity to existing methods.MethodsRosenberg-Patterson proposed 1977, the International Society Human Animal Mycology (ISHAM) 2013, this were applied 79 cases with pathological ABPM control population mucin absence fungal hyphae (n = 37), chronic eosinophilic pneumonia 64), Aspergillus-sensitized severe asthma 26), or pulmonary 24). These also 179 physician-diagnosed ABPA/ABPM a nationwide Japanese survey.ResultsThe Rosenberg-Patterson criteria, ISHAM 25.3%, 77.2%, 96.2%, respectively. The 49.2%, 82.7%, 94.4%, areas under curve receiver-operating characteristic curves 0.85, 0.90, 0.98, that culture-positive non-Aspergillus fungi 13.0%, 47.8%, 91.3%, respectively.ConclusionsThe compared showed better diagnosing ABPA/ABPM. Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis: A Diagnostic Challenge
Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) is an immunologic condition that results from an allergic immune response to Aspergillus fumigatus, most often occurring in a patient with bronchial asthma or cystic fibrosis. ABPA is diagnosed by constellation of clinical, laboratory, and radiographic criteria. In the absence of typical presentation, ABPA can be misdiagnosed. Our patient presented...
متن کاملDiagnostic Performance of Various Tests and Criteria Employed in Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis: A Latent Class Analysis
AIM The efficiency of various investigations and diagnostic criteria used in diagnosis of allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) remain unknown, primarily because of the lack of a gold standard. Latent class analysis (LCA) can provide estimates of sensitivity and specificity in absence of gold standard. Herein, we report the performance of various investigations and criteria employed in...
متن کاملAllergic Aspergillus sinusitis and its association with allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis
Allergic Aspergillus sinusitis (AAS) is a three decade old clinicopathologic entity in which mucoid impaction akin to that of allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) occurs in the paranasal sinuses. Features such as radiographic evidence of pansinusitis, passage of nasal plugs and recurrent nasal polyposis in patients with an atopic background is suggestive of AAS. Histopathlogic confirm...
متن کاملAllergic bronchopulmonary fungal disease without clinical asthma.
During a retrospective survey of patients with pulmonary shadows and blood eosinophilia between the years 1965 and 1980, 42 patients were found with allergic bronchopulmonary fungal disease. Eleven of these had no clinical evidence of asthma. Three of these 11 had hypersensitivity to fungi other than Aspergillus sp. In the absence of asthma there was some difficulty in making a diagnosis, parti...
متن کاملAllergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis--a clinical review.
Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis (ABPA) was first described by Hinson and colleagues in 1952. ABPA is a hypersensitivity disorder induced by a fungus Aspergillus and affects non-immunocompromised patients. The diagnosis is based on the presence of a combination of clinical, biological and radiological criteria. The treatment is based on oral corticosteroids for 6-8 weeks at acute phase o...
