New binaries from the SHINE survey

چکیده
We present the multiple stellar systems observed within SpHere INfrared survey for Exoplanet (SHINE). SHINE searched substellar companions to young stars using high contrast imaging. Although with known SPHERE field of view (<5.5 arcsec) were removed from original target list, we detected additional 78 463 targets so far. 27% have three or more components. Given heterogeneity sample in terms observing conditions and strategy, tailored routines used data reduction analysis, some which specifically designed these sets. then combined literature archival ones, TESS light curves Gaia parallaxes proper motions, characterise as completely possible. Combining all data, able constrain orbits 25 systems. carefully assessed completeness our separation range 50-500 mas (period a few years - tens years), taking into account initial selection biases recovering part excluded list due their multiplicity. This allowed us compare binary frequency previous studies highlight interesting trends mass ratio period distribution. also found that, objects such estimate was possible, values masses derived dynamical arguments good agreement model predictions. Stellar orbital spins appear fairly well aligned 12 having enough favour disk fragmentation origin. Our results importance combining different techniques when tackling complex problems formation binaries show how large samples can be useful than one purpose.

The LuckyCam survey for very low mass binaries – II. 13 new M4.5–M6.0 binaries
We present results from a high angular resolution survey of 77 very low mass (VLM) binary systems with 6.0 V − K colour 7.5 and proper motion 0.15 arcsec yr−1. 21 VLM binaries were detected, 13 of them new discoveries. The new binary systems range in separation between 0.18 and 1.3 arcsec. The distance-corrected binary fraction is 13.6+6.5 −4 per cent, in agreement with previous results. Nine o...
متن کاملTwo new AM Canum Venaticorum binaries from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey III
The AM Canum Venaticorum (AM CVn) binaries are a rare group of ultra-short period, masstransferring white dwarf binaries, some of which may be Type Ia supernova progenitors. More than a third of the total known population of AM CVn binaries have been discovered via the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). Here, we discuss our search for new AM CVns in the SDSS spectroscopic data base, and present t...
متن کاملRecent results from NA61/SHINE
NA61/SHINE is a multi-purpose experimental facility to study hadron production in hadron-proton, hadron-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron. Measurements motivated by physics of strong interactions, neutrinos and cosmic rays have been performed up to now. The first physics data with secondary hadron (protons, pions and kaons) beams were recorded in 2009 a...
