Neutron Flux Measurement in TRIGA Reactor using Gold Foil Activation Method

Neutron flux measurement is integral to nuclear physics, with implications across engineering, medical and material science. This study details neutron mapping in the TRIGA reactor Vienna using gold foil activation method. Identical foils were prepared, subjected 10-minute irradiation within core, subsequently assessed a 4πβ counter. The distribution was theoretically modeled as Bessel function cross-referenced against measured activities yield an experimental thermal map. Findings reveal close alignment between theoretical data, slight increase at core's outermost periphery due graphite reflector. work contributes valuable data on reactor's distribution, broader applicability field of experiments operation.
