Electromagnetic Form Factors at Large Momentum Transfer
Recent improvements of the hard scattering picture for the large p⊥ behaviour of electromagnetic form factors, namely the inclusion of both Sudakov corrections and intrinsic transverse momentum dependence of the hadronic wave function, are reviewed. On account of these improvements the perturbative contributions to the pion’s and the nucleon’s form factor can be calculated in a theoretically se...

In a double polarised electron scattering experiment data have been taken from which G n E can be extracted for Q 2 = 0.2 GeV 2 /c 2. We have measured asymmetries corresponding to the spin-spin correlation functions A ′ x and A ′ z and to the target analyzing power A 0 y. In order to investigate the influence of the reaction mechanisms and the different components of the 3 He wave function, als...
متن کاملNeutron charge radius and the neutron electric form factor
For nearly forty years, the Galster parametrization has been employed to fit existing data for the neutron electric form factor, GnE, vs the square of the four-momentum transfer, Q 2. Typically this parametrization is constrained to be consistent with experimental data for the neutron charge radius. However, we find that the Galster form does not have sufficient freedom to accommodate reasonabl...
متن کاملOn the relation between the Deuteron Form Factor at High Momentum Transfer and the High Energy Neutron-Proton Scattering Amplitude
We use non-relativistic dynamics to relate the deuteron form factor at high momentum transfer to the high energy neutron-proton scattering amplitude. This relation implies that an accurate computation of the form factors at large Q2 requires a simultaneous description of the lowest phase-shifts of the nucleon-nucleon elastic scattering at laboratory kinetic energy T ∼ Q/2mN . Computing these ph...
متن کاملProbing the Nucleon at Large Momentum Transfer
The central role of soft nucleon matrix elements in reactions of high energy electrons or real photons with nucleons is emphasized. These soft matrix elements are described in terms of skewed parton distributions. Their connections to ordinary parton distributions, form factors, Compton scattering and hard meson electroproduction is discussed.
