Neutrino physics with an opaque detector

چکیده

In 1956 Reines & Cowan discovered the neutrino using a liquid scintillator detector. The neutrinos interacted with scintillator, producing light that propagated across transparent volumes to surrounding photo-sensors. This approach has remained one of most widespread and successful detection technologies used since. article introduces concept breaks conventional paradigm transparency by confining collecting near its creation point an opaque dense array optical fibres. technique, called LiquidO, can provide high-resolution imaging enable efficient identification individual particles event-by-event. A natural affinity for adding dopants at high concentrations is provided use medium. With these other capabilities, potential our detector unlock opportunities in physics presented here, alongside results first experimental validation.

Neutrino Physics Inside SK detector

The non-zero mass difference square of three generations of neutrino has already been verified in the K2K experiment conducted in Japan. But we still need more experimental data to have more accurate results about neutrinos. New generation of neutrino experiments are being built up in all over the world. Here I would like to present some Monte Carlo results using a special neutrino beam passing...

Neutrino physics and astrophysics with the MACRO detector

After a brief presentation of the MACRO detector we discuss the data on atmospheric neutrinos and neutrino oscillations, on high energy (Eν > 1 GeV) neutrino astronomy, on indirect searches for WIMPs and low energy (Eν > ∼ 7 MeV) stellar collapse neutrinos.

Neutrino Physics: an Experimental Overview

Neutrinos are now known to have mass and to mix. It is still not known exactly how they fit into the theoretical picture, however. In the baseline Standard Model, neutrinos are massless, and extensions to the Standard Model are required to explain their small masses and the observed oscillation phenomena. These observations can be accommodated in GUTs, and perhaps more exotic scenarios such as ...
