چکیده
Abstract In our daily lives, we rely on the proper functioning of supply networks, from power grids to water transmission systems. A single failure in these critical infrastructures can lead a complete collapse through cascading mechanism. Counteracting strategies are thus heavily sought after. this article, introduce general framework analyse spreading failures complex networks and demostrate that not only decreasing but also increasing connectivity network be an effective method contain damages. We rigorously prove existence certain subgraphs, called isolators, completely inhibit any spreading, show how create such isolators synthetic real-world networks. The addition selected links prevent large scale outages as demonstrated for grids.

Spreading dynamics in complex networks
Searching for influential spreaders in complex networks is an issue of great significance for applications across various domains, ranging from the epidemic control, innovation diffusion, viral marketing, social movement to idea propagation. In this paper, we first display some of the most important theoretical models that describe spreading processes, and then discuss the problem of locating b...
متن کاملEpidemic spreading in correlated complex networks.
We study a dynamical model of epidemic spreading on complex networks in which there are explicit correlations among the node's connectivities. For the case of Markovian complex networks, showing only correlations between pairs of nodes, we find an epidemic threshold inversely proportional to the largest eigenvalue of the connectivity matrix that gives the average number of links, which from a n...
متن کاملRanking the spreading influence in complex networks
Identifying the node spreading influence in networks is an important task to optimally use the network structure and ensure the more efficient spreading in information. In this paper, by taking into account the shortest distance between a target node and the node set with the highest k-core value, we present an improved method to generate the ranking list to evaluate the node spreading influenc...
متن کاملCooperative Epidemic Spreading in Complex Networks
Most epidemic spreading models assume memoryless systems and statistically independent infections. Nevertheless, many real-life cases are manifestly time-sensitive and may be strongly correlated. We study the effect of non-Markovian stochastic dynamics on the SIS model, in random and scale-free networks, and propose a novel microscopic description to account for cooperation. Initial exploratory...
