Net shape forming of Ti6Al4V implants via green machining

Machining of bulk Ti6Al4V is relatively difficult owing to low elastic modulus, high work hardening tendency, stickiness, poor thermal conductivity besides formation long continuous chips during machining. Near net shaping through green machining could be a viable alternative conventional milling procedure. Herein, fabrication dental root and spinal plate equivalents was successfully demonstrated compacts prepared by plastic dough processing. For process reliability, the as well sintered components were characterized for physico-mechanical properties, defect shrinkage analysis dimensional accuracy desired objects Weibull modulus study ensuring reliability mechanical properties samples. Evidently, simple manufacturing titanium implants in cost-effective way.
