Neighbor discovery (ND) is a key initial step of network configuration and prerequisite vehicular ad hoc (VANET). However, the convergence efficiency ND facing requirements multivehicle fast networking VANET with frequent topology changes. This article proposes gossip-based information dissemination sensing information-assisted multipacket reception (GSIM-ND) algorithm for VANET. The GSIM-ND leverages efficient in case (MPR). Besides, through multitarget detection function multiple sensors installed roadside unit (RSU), RSU can sense distribution vehicles help to obtain their neighbors. Thus, as well. expected number discovered neighbors within given period theoretically derived used critical metric evaluate performance algorithm. bounds time slots when needs be are simulation results verify correctness theoretical derivation.
