Neglected Islamic Civilization? Muslim Intellectual Network in Mindanao, Philippines 19th Century in Aleem Ulomuddin Said Manuscript Collection

This article attempts to fill a research gap on the development of Islam in Mindanao, Southern Philippines, 19th century, where Muslim traditions region were well established and connected with intellectuals other Islamic worlds. relates mainly set primary sources manuscripts recently discovered by scholars such as Gallop, Fathurrahman, Kawashima Mindanao area, which previously belonged local Maranao ‘ulamā’, named Shaykh Aleem Ulomuddin Said. collection is written three languages: Malay, Arabic, Maranao, contains various fields (al-Qur’ān studies, ḥadīth, tafsir, tasawuf, prayer, ajimat, akidah theology, Arabic morphology). Using qualitative approach philological methods, findings this study indicate that these show close relationship networks during 18th centuries their Malay counterparts, those Aceh, Banten, Cirebon, Minangkabau. It also confirmed its network wider world Middle East (Mecca, Medina, Yemen) through Sufi order Shaṭṭārīyah, influenced intellectual tradition until century. Artikel ini mencoba mengisi yang sangat terbatas tentang perkembangan di Filipina Selatan pada abad ke-19 dimana tradisi wilayah tersebut sudah mapan dan terhubung dengan intelektual dunia lainnya. Ini terutama berkaitan satu sumber utama manuskrip baru-baru ditemukan oleh cendikiawan seperti Fathurahman, daerah sebelumnya milik seorang ‘ulamā lokal bernama Syaikh Koleksi ditulis tiga bahasa yaitu Melayu, Arab, berisi berbagai bidang (studi al-Qur’ān, doa teologi, serta morfologi Arab). Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif metode penelitian filologi, temuan menunjukkan bahwa manuskrip-manuskrip hubungan erat jaringan selama ke-18 19 rekan-rekan Melayu mereka lainnya Hal juga menegaskan lebih luas, khusus lagi Timur Tengah (Mekah, Madinah, Yaman) melalui tarekat berpengaruh terhadap sampai ke-19.
