Nearly Complete Genome Sequence of Lactobacillus plantarum Strain NIZO2877
Lactobacillus plantarum is a versatile bacterial species that is isolated mostly from foods. Here, we present the first genome sequence of L. plantarum strain NIZO2877 isolated from a hot dog in Vietnam. Its two contigs represent a nearly complete genome sequence.
متن کاملEosinophil hyporesponse of jirds induced by microfilariae of Brugia pahangi.
Male jirds (Meriones unguiculatus) were inoculated sc with 100 infective larvae of Brugia pahangi. After 16 weeks, the animals were reinoculated with a comparable number of organisms. Blood eosinophil responses during the 5 weeks subsequent to this attempt to reinfect were much lower than those of comparable naive animals, while the response to a heterologous infection (Toxocara canis) was comp...
متن کاملInfections of Brugia pahangi in conventional and nude (athymic) mice.
AKR, BALB/c and CBA/Ca and T.O. mice were completely resistant to infection with third stage infective larvae of Brugia pahangi. Third, fourth and fifth stage worms transplanted from the peritoneal cavity of jirds into the peritoneal cavity of mice continued to develop. BALB/c mice were the most susceptible of the strains tested and adult worms were obtained after each type of transplanted infe...
متن کاملDifferentiation of Brugia malayi and Brugia pahangi by PCR-RFLP of ITS1 and ITS2.
Lymphatic filariasis has been targeted by the World Health Organization for elimination by the year 2020. Malayan filariasis, caused by Brugia malayi, is endemic in southern Thailand where domestic cats serve as a major reservoir host. However, in nature, domestic cats also carry B. pahangi infection. In addition to chemotherapy and vector control, control in reservoir hosts is necessary to ach...
متن کاملInflammatory responses to migrating Brugia pahangi third-stage larvae.
Despite being central to parasite establishment and subsequent host pathological and immunologic responses, host-parasite interactions during early third-stage filarial larva (L3) migration are poorly understood. These studies aimed to define early tissue migration of Brugia pahangi L3 in the gerbil (Meriones unguiculatus) and measure host cellular responses during this period. Gerbils were int...
