Natural Grasslands as Lignocellulosic Biofuel Resources: Factors Affecting Fermentable Sugar Production

چکیده
Semi-natural grassland habitats are most often limited to animal grazing and low intensity farming. Their potential in bioenergy production is complicated due the heterogeneity, variation, accessibility, need for complex pre-treatment/hydrolysis techniques convert into valuable products. In this research, fermentable sugar efficiency from various at vegetation periods was evaluated. The highest yields (above 0.2 g/g volatile solids) over a period of 3 years were observed “xeric calcareous grasslands” (Natura 2000 code: 6120) “semi-natural dry grasslands scrubland facies on substrates” 6210). Both had higher proportion dicotyledonous plants. At same time, productivity 0.7 t sugar/ha) lowland hay meadows initial stage vegetation. Thus, despite variable yield-affecting factors, can be resource energy production.

Bioconversion and saccharification of some lignocellulosic wastes by Aspergillus oryzae ITCC-4857.01 for fermentable sugar production
The recent interest in bioconversion of agricultural and industrial wastes to chemical feedstock has led to extensive studies on cellulolytic enzymes produced by microorganisms. In the present study three lignocellulosic substrates viz. sugarcane bagasse, sawdust and water hyacinth were pre-treated with alkali and enzyme and their effect on bioconversion has been investigated. The ability of se...
متن کاملBioethanol Production from Fermentable Sugar Juice
Bioethanol production from renewable sources to be used in transportation is now an increasing demand worldwide due to continuous depletion of fossil fuels, economic and political crises, and growing concern on environmental safety. Mainly, three types of raw materials, that is, sugar juice, starchy crops, and lignocellulosic materials, are being used for this purpose. This paper will investiga...
متن کاملUtilizing Anaerobic Fungi for Two-stage Sugar Extraction and Biofuel Production from Lignocellulosic Biomass
Lignocellulosic biomass is a vast and underutilized resource for the production of sugars and biofuels. However, the structural complexity of lignocellulosic biomass and the need for multiple pretreatment and enzymatic steps for sugar release renders this process economically challenging. Here, we report a novel approach for direct, single container, exogenous enzyme-free conversion of lignocel...
