Abstract. Tricahyati T, Suparman, Irsan C. 2022. Natural enemies of Pentalonia nigronervosa, vector Banana Bunchy Top Virus. Biodiversitas 23: 3675-3684. nigronervosa (Coquerel) is an important pest banana. Instead sucking liquid from banana phloem, P. also play role in transmitting Virus (BBTV) infected to healthy ones. If efforts are not made control the aphid, existence can increase field. The objective this research was find out natural which may significant controlling aphid naturally. results showed that were forms predator, parasitoid and pathogenic fungi. A total 22 species predator belonged 5 families insect, namely Coccinellidae, Forficulidae, Chelisochidae, Reduviidae Syrphidae, 4 Arachnida i.e. Oxyopidae, Araneidae, Salticidae, Philodromidae. result exhibited one family Brachonidae, hyper-parasitoid Encrytidae. Furthermore, it observed 3 entomopathogenic fungi aphids. genera Aspergillus Beauveria. Each had different predation capacity, highest Forficula auricularia (23.67 ± 3.05) Scymnus sp. 1.52). Parasitoid Lipolexis bengalensis could parasitize at relatively high parasitic ability 4.67 23.65. finding various South Sumatra be considered as alternative way reduce transmission rate BBTV province. use has no residual effects on environment cheaper compared other measurements.

Diagnosis of banana bunchy top virus in Red banana
Banana Bunchy Top Disease (BBTD) caused by the Banana Bunchy Top Virus (BBTV), is the most serious virus disease of banana and plantain worldwide. Detection of the BBTV infection in the planting material could help in the effective management of the disease in banana. A polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay was used to detect the of banana bunchy top virus at early stages of infection in banana...

The banana aphid, Pentalonia nigronervosa Coquerel (Hemiptera: Aphididae), infests banana (Musa spp.) worldwide. Pentalonia nigronervosa is the vector of Banana bunchy top virus (family Nanoviridae, genus Babuvirus) the etiological agent of Banana bunchy top disease (BBTD). BBTD is currently the most serious problem affecting banana in Hawaii. Despite the importance of this vector species, litt...
متن کاملLocalization, Concentration, and Transmission Efficiency of Banana bunchy top virus in Four Asexual Lineages of Pentalonia aphids
Banana bunchy top virus (BBTV) is the most destructive pathogenic virus of banana plants worldwide. The virus is transmitted in a circulative non-propagative manner by the banana aphid, Pentalonia nigronervosa Coquerel. In this work, we examined the localization, accumulation, and transmission efficiency of BBTV in four laboratory-established lineages of Pentalonia aphids derived from four diff...

Banana bunchy top virus (BBTV) DNA component 1 from isolates from 10 different countries was cloned and sequenced and the sequences were aligned and compared. This analysis indicated two groups: the South Pacific group (isolates from Australia, Burundi, Egypt, Fiji, India, Tonga and Western Samoa) and the Asian group (isolates from the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam). The mean sequence differe...
متن کاملReassortment and concerted evolution in banana bunchy top virus genomes.
The nanovirus Banana bunchy top virus (BBTV) has six standard components in its genome and occasionally contains components encoding additional Rep (replication initiation protein) genes. Phylogenetic network analysis of coding sequences of DNA 1 and 3 confirmed the two major groups of BBTV, a Pacific and an Asian group, but show evidence of web-like phylogenies for some genes. Phylogenetic ana...
