Natural antibacterial gel to fight tooth decay: An in-silico modeling approach

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study developed an antibacterial oral gel to inhibit Streptococcus mutans, a bacterium that causes tooth decay. The was formulated using methanol extract of Piper betel leaves, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and glycerin at different concentrations. evaluated for pH, viscosity activity against S. mutans standard methods. showed potent activity, supporting its use in the formulation. In silico molecular docking studies targeted key protein residues involved substrate binding. Eleven bioactive compounds identified via GC-MS analysis were docked 1EUH, NADP-dependent aldehyde dehydrogenase from mutans. All 11 exhibited favorable scores, suggesting strong binding affinity target protein. results correlated with gel, which inhibited growth more effectively than sodium fluoride, dental product.

An In Silico Modeling Approach to Understanding the Dynamics of Sarcoidosis

BACKGROUND Sarcoidosis is a polygenic disease with diverse phenotypic presentations characterized by an abnormal antigen-mediated Th1 type immune response. At present, progress towards understanding sarcoidosis disease mechanisms and the development of novel treatments is limited by constraints attendant to conducting human research in a rare disease in the absence of relevant animal models. We...

Functional Annotation of Two Hypothetical Proteins Reveals Valuable Proteins Involved in Response to Salinity: An in silico Approach

Through the exponential development in the specification of sequences and structures of proteins by genome sequencing and structural genomics approaches, there is a growing demand for valid bioinformatics methods to define these proteins function. In this study, our objective is to identify the function of unknown proteins from UCB-1 pistachio rootstock and specify their class...

In Silico Analysis to Access the Antibacterial Effect of Thiazides on Pdfs: Molecular Docking Approach

Objective: Increasing prevalence of antibiotic resistant pathogenic bacteria has reached the alarming level that poses a need to identify new drugs and drug targets. Peptide Deformylase may prove to be a wise choice since it is crucial for native protein functioning in most pathogenic bacteria. Methods: In present study, we demonstrated preexisting drug Thiazides, primarily used for hypertensio...

Molecular Tooth Decay

Charles Darwin was intrigued with vestigial organs and, in fact, made them a part of his ‘‘long argument’’ for the existence of evolution in the natural world in Chapter 13 of On the Origin of Species. Now on the 150 anniversary of the publication of that seminal work, a study linking vestigial organs with molecular biology with paleontology has shown even more clearly how vestigial organs are ...
