چکیده
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is one of the commonest head and neck malignancies in South East Asia. The tumor arises from epithelial layer nasopharynx, found most frequently at Fossa Rosenmuller (FOR). NPC can spread to its adjacent structures cause distant metastasis. However, occurrence dura metastasis uncommon despite being closely located. Consequently, a lesion may be misdiagnosed as meningioma, especially when it presents with dural tail sign Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI). We reported case 48-year-old lady progressive right eye diplopia blurry vision which later on MRI noted an extensive base skull mass petroclival, suprasellar orbital apex adural Meningioma was primary diagnosis until tissue biopsy nasopharynx posterior part inferior turbinate revealed nasopharyngeal carcinoma, non-keratinizing type.

Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma with Cystic Cervical Metastasis Masquerading as Branchial Cleft Cyst: A Potential Pitfall in Diagnosis and Management
Introduction:Most metastatic lymph nodes from head and neck malignancy are solid. Cystic nodes are found in 33% - 61% of carcinomas arise from Waldeyer’s ring, of which only 1.8% - 8% originate are from the nasopharynx. Some cystic cervical metastases were initially presumed to be branchial cleft cyst. This case report aims to highlight the unusual presentation of cystic cervical metastasis sec...
متن کاملThyroid carcinoma presenting as a dural metastasis mimicking a meningioma: A case report
CONTEXT Follicular thyroid cancer rarely manifests itself as a distant metastatic lesion. CASE REPORT We report a case of a 41-year old man presented with a solid mass located in the left temporo-occipital region. The 3D computed tomography showed a large solid mass with high vascularity, skull erosion and supra-infratentorial epidural mass effect. After magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) a sus...
متن کاملDural metastasis mimicking meningioma: an interesting case.
Dural metastasis is a rare entity in clinical practice. We report a case of dural metastasis secondary to thyroid carcinoma, which on both preoperative CT and MRI and at surgery had the typical appearance of a meningioma. Histopathological findings confirmed metastatic follicular thyroid carcinoma as a primary site. Although rare, dural metastases can mimic a meningioma. Our experience in this ...

متن کاملCarcinoma metastasis to meningioma.
A metastasis from a carcinoma of the lung to an intracranial meningioma is described. This event is being reported more frequently, with most cases being seen since 1970. In patients with carcinoma, biopsies of intracranial tumours should include hyper- or hypodense regions in the tumour seen on CT.
