چکیده

BACKGROUND Despite decades of use, the magnitude efficacy narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy for atopic dermatitis (AD) beyond industry-sponsored trials remains unclear. AIM To evaluate clinical NB-UVB in AD under real-world conditions. METHODS We conducted a historical inception cohort study using automated recording dispensed drugs to provide an objective treatment outcome large population catchment 420 000 people over 15 years. analysed outcomes, recorded multicentre and prospectively 15 years, (n = 844), along with this cohort. RESULTS The majority (70%) patients received significantly fewer topical corticosteroids (TCS) during 12-month window after finishing compared before starting (median reduction from 37.5 19.7 g/month). number oral antihistamines also dropped (from 20% 10% 69% 31%, respectively), while all AD-unrelated remained unchanged. Clinically, achieved 'clear' or 'almost clear' status 48.7% patients, 20.4% 'moderate clearance'. Treatment outcomes scores were validated by strong correlation AD-specific drug treatment. CONCLUSION Our data confirm significant conditions routine care.
