چکیده

Nanozero-valent iron (NZVI) shows great potential in the remediation of water pollution, but its application is limited by instability and tendency to aggregate. To enhance dispersibility antioxidant properties NZVI, we prepared composites (SN) wrapping NZVI with sodium alginate (SA) for removal Pb(II) from water. Various characterization methods such as SEM-EDS, BET, XPS, FT-IR were used study structure materials, adsorption materials analyzed using kinetics isotherm experiments. The results showed that SN had a specific surface area 47.05 m2/g, which was significantly higher than 7.56 m2/g passivation reduced. maximum amount on obtained fitting model at 70.92 mg/g. After five cycles adsorption, exhibited rate 95.11% Pb(II). mechanism involved synergistic effect electrostatic redox reaction, ion exchange, coprecipitation. Notably, even after 90 days aging, remained high 95.39%, demonstrating good reactivity. These indicated an effective adsorbent remove contamination.

Removal of Pb(II) from aqueous solution by azeoliteâ•finanoscale zero-valent iron composite

The effectiveness of nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) to remove heavy metals from water is reduced by its low durability, poor mechanical strength, and tendency to form aggregates. A composite of zeolite and nanoscale zero-valent iron (Z–nZVI) overcomes these problems and shows good potential to remove Pb from water. FTIR spectra support nZVI loading onto the zeolite and reduced Fe0 oxidation ...

Removal of Acid Red 18 dye from Aqueous Solutions Using Nanoscale Zero-Valent Iron

Background and Purpose:Organic dyes with a complex structure are often toxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, non-biodegradation and stable in the environment and if released to the environment without treatment can endanger the environment and human health. The aim was to evaluate the performance nanoscalezero-valent iron (NZVI) in the removal of dye acid red 18 (AR18) from aqueous solutions. Materia...

Aqueous phosphate removal using nanoscale zero-valent iron

Nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) particles have been used for the remediation of a wide variety of contaminants. NZVI particles have high reactivity because of high reactive surface area. In this study, NZVI slurry was successfully used for phosphate removal and recovery. Batch studies conducted using different concentrations of phosphate (1, 5, and 10 mg PO4 -P/L with 400 mg NZVI/L) removed *...

Nanoscale zero valent supported by Zeolite and Montmorillonite: Template effect of the removal of lead ion from an aqueous solution.

In this work, we have studied the Pb(2+) sorption capacity of Zeolite (Z) and Montmorillonite (Mt) functionalized with nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI), at 50% w/w, obtained by means of an impregnating process with a solvent excess. The composites were characterized by several techniques including X-ray diffraction; scanning electron microscopy (SEM); BET area; isoelectric point (IEP); and, fi...

Removal of Arsenic (III, V) from aqueous solution by nanoscale zero-valent iron stabilized with starch and carboxymethyl cellulose

In this work, synthetic nanoscale zerovalent iron (NZVI) stabilized with two polymers, Starch and Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) were examined and compared for their ability in removing As (III) and As (V) from aqueous solutions as the most promising iron nanoparticles form for arsenic removal. Batch operations were conducted with different process parameters such as contact time, nanoparticles ...
