NANOGrav signal from magnetohydrodynamic turbulence at the QCD phase transition in the early Universe

چکیده

The NANOGrav collaboration has recently reported evidence for the existence of a stochastic gravitational wave background in 1-100 nHz frequency range. We argue that such could have been produced by magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence at QCD scale. From measurement one can infer magnetic field parameters: comoving strength close to microGauss and correlation length 10\% Hubble radius phase transition epoch. point out turbulent decay non-helical with parameters leads recombination epoch, which would be sufficiently strong provide solution tension problem, as proposed. also show MHD interpretation signal tested via measurements relic voids large scale structure, gamma-ray telescopes like CTA.

Electroweak Phase Transition in the Early Universe ?

Existence and properties of the electroweak phase transition in the early universe depend strongly on the mass of the Higgs scalar M H. There is presumably no true symmetry restoration at high temperature. A first order phase transition occurs, nevertheless, for M H ∼ < 80 GeV whereas the transition to the high temperature regime is described by a crossover for M H ∼ > 80 GeV. Electroweak baryo...

Electroweak phase transition in the early universe and Baryogenesis

In the Standard Model, it is generally accepted that elementary particles get their masses via the Higgs mechanism, which involves a phase transition from the symmetric phase at higher temperatures (close to the Big Bang) to a phase in which the symmetry has been spontaneously broken. One of the outstanding problems in particle physics is to explain the origin of the observed matter-antimatter ...

QCD-Electroweak First-Order Phase Transition in a Supercooled Universe.

If the electroweak sector of the standard model is described by classically conformal dynamics, the early Universe evolution can be substantially altered. It is already known that-contrarily to the standard model case-a first-order electroweak phase transition may occur. Here we show that, depending on the model parameters, a dramatically different scenario may happen: A first-order, six massle...

Disorienting the Chiral Condensate at the Qcd Phase Transition

I sketch how long wavelength modes of the pion field can be amplified during the QCD phase transition. If nature had been kinder, and had made the pion mass significantly less than the critical temperature for the transition, then this phenomenon would have characterized the transition in thermal equilibrium. Instead, these long wavelength oscillations of the orientation of the chiral condensat...

Kaon Interferometry as Signal for the QCD Phase Transition at RHIC †

Pion and kaon correlations in relativistic nuclear collisions are studied in the framework of boost-invariant, cylindrically symmetric hydrodynamics. It is investigated how the inverse widths, Rout, Rside, of the two–particle correlation functions in out– and side–direction depend on the average transverse momentum K⊥ of the particle pair, the initial energy density ǫ0, and the equation of stat...
