Nano-Porous Silica-Aerogel-Incorporated Composite Materials for Thermal-Energy-Efficient Pitched Roof in the Tropical Region

Silica aerogel possesses an ultra-low thermal conductivity by virtue of its nano-structure. Owing to the fragility monolithic aerogel, development and production aerogel-based insulation materials involve incorporation granular with other form composite materials. In present study, application silica-aerogel-incorporated cement paste as render on roof-top surface is coupled installation a novel board below roof tiles. Control samples were prepared. Thermal strength tests performed samples. A simulation study was Building Information Model subjected tropical climate project resultant impact thermal-energy-efficiency roof. For optimization performances, silica contents 4 wt.% 3 selected for board, respectively. The projected annual cooling load energy savings revealed that 20-mm render, 100-mm thick recommended optimum configuration.
