چکیده
Abstract In an RF ablation procedure for treating hepatocellular carcinoma and metastatic liver cancer, plucking out antenna from incompletely cauterized tumor tissues can cause neoplastic seeding; hence, it is demanded to properly evaluate the thermal denaturation of tissue before antenna. present ex vivo study, we show that degree inside porcine induced with current heating be evaluated by binarized two-dimensional Nakagami parametric image indicating weighted average shape parameter m . Moreover, pre-Rayleigh distribution dominant in ultrasonic backscattered envelopes obtained tissue, whereas Rayleigh those completely which has coagulative necrosis region. The result indicates change scatterer would occurred caused this study.

Fiber-optic chirped FBG for distributed thermal monitoring of ex-vivo radiofrequency ablation of liver.
A linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating (LCFBG) has been used as a temperature sensor for online monitoring of radiofrequency thermal ablation (RFTA). The LCFBG acts as a distributed sensor, with spatial resolution of 75 μm. A white-light setup that records the LCFBG spectrum estimates the temperature profile in real time. Three RFTA experiments have been performed ex-vivo on porcine liver measu...

Comparison of Wet Radiofrequency Ablation with Dry Radiofrequency Ablation and Radiofrequency Ablation Using Hypertonic Saline Preinjection: Ex Vivo Bovine Liver
OBJECTIVE We wished to compare the in-vitro efficiency of wet radiofrequency(RF) ablation with the efficiency of dry RF ablation and RF ablation with preinjection of NaCl solutions using excised bovine liver. MATERIALS AND METHODS Radiofrequency was applied to excised bovine livers in a monopolar mode for 10 minutes using a 200 W generator and a perfused-cooled electrode with or without injec...
متن کاملEx Vivo Liver Tissue Radiofrequency Thermal Ablation: Ir Measurements and Simulations
Radiofrequency thermal ablation (RFTA) is a medical procedure currently widely adopted for liver tumors treatment. Its outcome is strongly influenced by temperature distribution near the RF applicator therefore continuous measurements are required both to validate RFTA numerical models and to better control the outcome of the procedure. The space-time evolution of the thermal field during RFTA ...

BACKGROUND The effect of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) can be modulated by fluid injection. PURPOSE To evaluate the potential of different fluids to modulate the effect of bipolar RFA in an ex-vivo liver model. MATERIAL AND METHODS A bipolar RFA system with an internally cooled needle-shaped applicator (20-mm active tip) was used to induce coagulation lesions in ex-vivo porcine liver. Prior...
