چکیده
Abstract Novel NaIL detector (5 × 6 inch) was investigated for its neutron detection in wide energy range. It has been found that the together with known ability to detect γ-radiation it also allows distinguish signals three quasi-independent ways. is sensitive fluxes on a level down 10 -3 cm -2 s -1 . In this work intrinsic α-background and sensitivity were obtained. Experimental data compared results of Geant4 Monte Carlo (MC).

متن کاملSimulated Neutron Response Functions of Phoswich-Type Neutron Detector and Thin Organic Liquid Scintillator
Neutron response functions of a phoswich neutron detector and thin organic liquid scintillator were simulated using the multi-purpose Monte Carlo code MCNPX, incorporating functions of light outputs, energy resolutions, and uniformity of scintillation. The simulated response functions were verified by response-function measurement for high-energy neutrons produced by bombarding thin lithium tar...
متن کاملA large area plastic scintillator detector array for fast neutron measurements
A large area plastic scintillator detector array(∼ 1×1 m) has been set up for fast neutron spectroscopy at the BARC-TIFR Pelletron laboratory, Mumbai. The energy, time and position response has been measured for electrons using radioactive sources and for mono-energetic neutrons using the 7Li(p,n1) Be*(0.429 MeV) reaction at proton energies between 6.3 and 19 MeV. A Monte Carlo simulation of th...
متن کاملSimulation of a Neutron Detector for Real Time Imaging Applications
Monte Carlo Method is used to simulate a double layer gadolinium-amorphous silicon thermal neutron detector. The detector fabricated in pixel array configuration has various applications including neutron imaging. According to the simulation results, a detector consisting of a gadolinium (Gd) film with thickness of 2-4 ~m, sandwiched properly with two layers of sufficiently thick (-30 ?µm) hydr...
