Myoclonus associated with megestrol acetate: a case report

چکیده

Myoclonus is a clinical sign characterized by brief, involuntary, jerky contraction or lapse of muscle group muscles, which can be associated with cerebral disorders, epileptic and drugs. Megestrol acetate (MGA) synthetic derivative progestin, has been widely used in practice for increasing appetite patients severe anorexia malignancies. We experienced 68-year-old female patient who myoclonus after administration MGA herein report the case. Our case indicated that may cause reversible myoclonus.
