Mustis revisited: unpublished inscriptions from the Parisian archives

Abstract English The Roman town of Mustis ( municipium Iulium Aurelium Mustitanum ) is near present-day Mest Henshir (Tunisia). Its epigraphic corpus has around 200 inscriptions mainly published at the end 19th century and beginning 20th century, when French archaeological campaigns took place. However, a group Latin discovered during 1960s remained unpublished. In reorganisation archives Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art (Paris) original photographs, negatives, slides documents revealed new data. this article I present five (three votive texts, quadruple funerary epitaph boundary stone) data photographs three already known by G. Wilmanns in CIL . All these texts reveal about territory res publica Mustitana , sacred life city (including confirmation Capitol) onomastic information its inhabitants.
